Officers of the Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Combating Drug Trafficking and the General Prosecutor's Office detained 11 drug dealers as a result of joint operative and investigative measures carried out in Tbilisi, Ponichala settlement, and Marneuli, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed report.ge.
According to the agency, among detainees are R.I., born in 2002, A.A, born in 2002, A.M, born in 2003, E.I., born in 2002, S.K., born in 1974, Kh.A., born in 1982, E.Sh., born in 1990, E.A., born in 1987, F.A., born in 1979, A.A., born in 1975, and N.M., born 1988.
The detainees are charged with illegal purchase, possession, and sale of a particularly large amount of drugs by a group with prior agreement.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
"The investigation revealed that the accused were systematically selling drugs. Based on a judge's ruling, law enforcement carried out a controlled purchase of the drug "Heroin" from the accused several times and made a secret audio-video recording of the mentioned purchases.
During the search of the detainees' private and residential houses, the police confiscated drugs prepared for sale - "heroin" in 45 packs and money.
The investigation launched under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the statement said.
