The European Court accepted the case of the arrest of the chairperson of the "National Movement," Nika Melia. The Strasbourg court will discuss the legality of Melia's arrest.
According to the politician's lawyer, Dito Sadzaglishvili, Nika Melia's case is comparable to such high-profile trials as Navalny-Russia and Tymoshenko-Ukraine.
"It should be emphasized that the Strasbourg court asked the Georgian authorities about a possible violation of Article 18. As you know, Article 18 is on the agenda at that time when people are persecuted on political grounds," Dimitri Sadzaglishvili said.
