"Three people have been arrested for kidnapping a minor girl in Lagodekhi," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
"Kakheti Police have detained three persons on the fact of illegal deprivation of liberty of a minor girl: A.A., born in 1999, R.O., born in 1991, and A.A., born in 1995.
The investigation established that on December 21 of the current year, in the village of Karajala, Lagodekhi Municipality, in order to get married, A.A., with the help of accompanying persons, kidnapped the juvenile girl F.A., born in 2004, living in the same village.
As a result of several days of intensive operative-investigative measures, the police determined the juvenile's whereabouts.
The investigation into the illegal deprivation of liberty launched under Article 143, Part 3, Subparagraphs "a" and "d" of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 10 years in prison.
