What information did General Prosecutor's Office give Bachaliashvili's family?

Georgia's Prosecutor-General Irakli Shotadze has met with deceased Tamar Bachaliashvili's family members and the lawyer and released a statement on the recently held meeting.

According to the statement, Irakli Shotadze has listened to late Tamar Bachiashvili's family and provided them with information on the ongoing criminal investigation.

Per this information, on 24 July, Georgia's General Prosecutor's Office requested the  U.S. Facebook administration, within international assistance, to store Bachaliashvili's Facebook data since the creation of the profile before 25 July. The Facebook administration met the request.

On 27 July, Georgia's General Prosecutor's Office asked the Facebook administration to keep the deceased young woman's Instagram data, and the same day, they also requested the Google administration to store her google service data. This request was also fulfilled.

On 28 July (the day when Bachaliashvili's Facebook profile was deleted), Georgia's General Prosecutor's Office once again requested that the woman's Facebook data be stored from 25 July to 28 July. The Facebook administration again complied with the request.

On 28 July, Georgia's General Prosecutor's Office learned from Facebook that their administration does not delete their users' accounts after their death; they just turn them into memorialised accounts, and Georgia's law enforcement bodies will be provided with the information on the person who deleted her profile or made it unavailable for the general public after the corresponding court verdict.

On 5 August, Georgia's General Prosecutor's Office asked the Facebook administration all other corresponding Facebook and Instagram data from 1 February to 30 July.

At the meeting, the family was explained that the investigation is in its active phase, and the Prosecutor's Office shows readiness to ask partner countries for assistance in the future as well.

Tamar Bachaliashvili, 23, was found dead on 22 July in the Tetritskaro village. The Central Criminal Police Department of Tbilisi is looking into the case at the family's request.
