The EU Ambassador to Georgia met with the Public Defender, Nino Lomjaria. Carl Hartzell wrote on Twitter that he welcomed the group of experts set up by the Ombudsman.
"Welcome additional medical expertise acquired by Ombudsman of Georgia and her team to assess Mr. Saakashvili's health situation objectively, as part of fulfilling her important constitutional mandate to supervise the protection of human rights in Georgia," he writes.
The Public Defender invited a group of multi-profile medical experts to monitor the adequacy and timeliness of medical services provided by the Ministry of Justice / Special Penitentiary Service to the accused/convicted Mikheil Saakashvili, the third President of Georgia.
