Carl Hartzell, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, said that they welcome actions to address the health situation of Mikheil Saakashvili. However, in his words, this is not the end.
Hartzell says that they are following the situation closely, including how well the ex-president's fundamental rights and inviolability of personal life are protected, as well as the current legal processes.
The ambassador stressed that Saakashvili is entitled to attend his trial.
At the end of his statement, Harzell expressed hope that all parties will seize the opportunity for further progress and strive to ensure the proper development of the ongoing processes in the country.
