Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, held a meeting with Li Yan, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, to Georgia.
According to the Ministry, Li Yan informed the Deputy Minister on the current situation regarding the coronavirus and the steps taken by the Chinese authorities. According to her, to improve the situation, China actively cooperates with the World Health Organization.
"Alexandre Khvtisiashvili thanked the Chinese side for cooperation in this process of evacuating several citizens. He also emphasized that the government of Georgia is doing it's best to raise awareness about the coronavirus. The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that China will be able to stop the spread of the virus in the shortest amount of time and expressed the readiness to cooperate with the Chinese government," reads the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
