Ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has responded to President Salome Zurabishvili's speech at Orbeliani palace.
In Saakashvili's words, for the first time over the years, he has been enabled to listen to an objective assessment of the existing situation in the country.
The ex-president said that Zurabishvili was right when she said the country is in a deadlock, it faces a political crisis, and citizens are leaving it.
''Our country and the public are not moving forward. Saying this requires great courage, and Salome Zurabishvili showed courage today.
I think that the key to the country's development is consistent and peaceful public protests; however, from my prison cell, I welcome her suggestion that we should start a dialogue.
I will not cease fight even for a minute before the immensely concerning situation _ on which the fifth president of Georgia focused in her speech _ ends,'' Mikheil Saakashvili stressed.
