Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili said in his video address that he will return to Georgia on election day.
''I will enter Georgia on election day. I also wish to appeal to all my compatriots outside Georgia's borders, whoever can do so, to take a leave from work and head to Georgia by land, air, or however they can. Let's go to Georgia together.
You know that they have instituted legal proceedings against me not recognized by any of the countries worldwide.
I go everywhere, including to Georgia's neighboring countries; they host me everywhere.
This clearly testifies to these cases being illegal and baseless.
However, I am not afraid of jail; I do not fear to trust my fate to Georgian people,'' Saakashvili stated.
Local self-government elections are set to be held in Georgia on 2 October.
