French PM Jean Castex said that France deems Georgia as one of the privileged partners and is ready to assist it in strengthening relations with the EU and NATO.
The French PM's congratulations letter to re-elected PM Gakharia says that Georgia plays an exemplary role within the Eastern Partnership, with France and Germany having already mentioned Georgia's role in strengthening democratic institutions in the 12 December communique. "They also reaffirmed their support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. I assure you that we express this position in all forums at which it can somehow affect the development of events. Finally, in 2021, I would like us to convene the second meeting at which the bilateral dialogue between France and Georgia will be held, which we already started on 2 December 2019 in Paris," the letter reads.
