The ruling Georgian Dream party has responded to the latest developments outside the parliament by posting the following statement on Twitter:
"Despite Georgia’s international strategic partners’ calls for defusing political tensions and de-escalating the situation, radical opposition forces choose to incite street violence against the police to once again undermine the political process and deepen the polarization," the statement reads.
Around 20 protesters have been detained outside the parliament.
