Georgian PM Gharibashvili meets Ukrainian Defense Minister

Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili has met with Ukrainian Minister of Defense Andrii Taran.

According to the Administration of the Government, the parties focused on the existing amicable relations between the two countries. They stressed that Georgia's and Ukraine's safety must be ensured to guarantee peace in the region. The emphasis was also put on the two countries' integration in NATO. 

The Georgian PM noted that further cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine in ensuring security in the Black Sea Region and active involvement in the EOP format is mandatory. 

Additionally, Mr. Gharibashvili stressed that he salutes the adoption of the Bilateral Strategic Partnership Format, which, in his words, will positively impact relations between the two countries.  

The Georgian PM also thanked the Ukrainian Minister of Defense for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed that Georgia is also a staunch supporter of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.  

Furthermore, the Georgian and Ukrainian sides focused on Georgia-Ukraine joint military exercises and their active cooperation in the field.
