Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has held an online meeting with NDI Chairwoman Madeleine Albright.
According to the Prime Minister's Press Service, Madlen Albright thanked Gharibashvili for Georgia's assistance in evacuating US citizens from Afghanistan.
They also focused on the 2021 local self-government elections, with the Georgian side stressing that the government stands ready to hold transparent and peaceful elections.
PM Gharibashvili stressed that they are willing to invite lots of international observers not to have any unanswered questions.
The parties agreed that long-term NDI observers would arrive in Georgia to monitor the forthcoming elections.
NDI leaders and former diplomats were also present at the online meeting.
