A National Security Council meeting presided by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has been held.

The document focusing on the Concept of National Security, the final version of which, as the interim head of the State Security Council said, is set to be forwarded to the parliament in Feb 2022, was discussed at the meeting.

The meeting participants also made reference to the National Security Strategy and Threats Assessment document to be updated in the first quarter of 2022. 

Emphasis was also placed on the regional security issues and the ongoing developments. 

Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri, Foreign Minister and Vice-Premier Davit Zalkaliani, Defense Minister Juanshr Burchuladze, Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluahvili, Head of the Intelligence Service Shalva Lomidze, and Chief of the Defense Forces Giorgi Matiashvili attended the meeting. 

Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee Irakli Beraia and Head of Military Intelligence Department, Colonel Giorgi Bliadze were also invited to the meeting.
