'I urge the government to return my son': father of abducted man

"I urge the government to return my son," Misha Gakheladze, the father of Zaza Gakheladze, abducted by the occupants, said.

In his words, they have not so far delivered on their promises.

"They have given us hopes; they have issued promises; nothing has so far yielded results, however. They have contacted us, saying that his health condition was satisfactory; they have not assumed any other responsibilities," Misha Gakheladze said, adding that he urges the government to return his son to him.

On 11 July, occupants first wounded and then abducted Zaza Gakheladze in the vicinity of the Skhvilo fortress.

The occupation regime claims that Gakheladze defied military men's appeals, opened fire on them, and was wounded afterward. The so-called law enforcement officers of South Ossetia charged wounded and abducted Gakhelidze pursuant to the Russian Criminal Code.
