Within the UN General Assembly framework, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili met with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The meeting took place in New York in the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in a face-to-face and expanded format.
The conversation focused on the developments in the region.
According to Irakli Gharibashvili, the most important goal of Georgia is to support peace and stability in the region, and the country is ready to fulfill its peacekeeping function for long-term peace and stability in the Caucasus region.
The talks focused on the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan through the mediation of the Prime Minister of Georgia and the involvement of the United States, as a result of which the citizens of Armenia were released, and maps of the mined territories were handed over to Azerbaijan. It was noted that this agreement is a good basis for further cooperation between the neighbors.
