"NATO expects Georgia to adhere to the democratic standards on which it has worked hard in recent years," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated at a briefing after meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
As Jens Stoltenberg noted, the meeting focused on Georgia's domestic reforms and the implementation of the annual national program. He called on the Georgian authorities to resolve their differences with the opposition.
"It is vital that we continue to work on justice system reform, media freedom, and security sector accountability. We also urge you to work with the opposition to resolve political differences, reduce polarization rhetoric and actions," Jens Stoltenberg said.
