The Mayor of Tbilisi congratulated the population of Georgia on Independence Day.
He said the fight for the country's independence was difficult and thanked all the people who sacrificed their lives for freedom. The main challenge today is the occupation, which is temporary and depends on the development of Georgia.
"I am sure their souls rejoice today that our country is independent. I want to congratulate the whole of Georgia, every citizen of our country, on Independence Day. Unfortunately, part of the territory of our country is occupied, but it is temporary. We should be able to return these territories in the coming years with wisdom, education, and economic development of the country," said Kakha Kaladze.
The Mayor of the capital attended the Independence Day event with his wife at Freedom Square.
