Mamuka Mdinaradze: Early elections will not be considered

Mamuka Mdinaradze said that there was no talk of early elections at a meeting between the opposition and the ruling team mediated by European Council President Charles Michel.

According to the Chairperson of the Georgian Dream faction, the ruling team will agree to early elections only if the opposition gets involved in the work of the parliamentary commission of inquiry and proves at least a 1% error in the polls.

"An excellent meeting took place yesterday; the opposition was constructive. There was a specific list of issues, and several more were added. After our meeting yesterday, our opponents tried to speculate that there was talk of early elections. On the contrary, there is no talk on this issue," Mamuka Mdinaradze said.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, held meetings with the President, the Prime Minister, the Chairperson of the Parliament and the opposition on March 1. Later, at Charles Michel's initiative, the government and the opposition met at the Orbeliani Palace. According to the opposition leaders, early parliamentary elections are among the issues of negotiations.
