"Ivanishvili's messengers have hysterically offered USD two or three million in cash to each deputy member to enter the parliament," Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili said in his Facebook live video.
In Saakashvili's words, deputy members, having refused to take their mandates, have done a heroic deed by showing Ivanishvili he is not omnipotent. In his video address, the ex-president thanked those representatives of the left-wing party who refused to take bribes.
"Georgia does not have a parliament. This is an illegal body, especially after the fact that Ivanishvili's messengers have hysterically offered USD two or three million in cash to each deputy member to enter it. I know this for certain, as I never spread rumors on similar topics. The majority of these people are not well off. I know these people. I know who they are. For them, the salary of several thousand lari is a great amount. These MPs decided to stand by the Georgian people. In my view, this is an example of civic heroism," Saakashvili declared.
