"I will not receive food in any form until I am arrested, and I am ready to die," the new address of the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, states. After the meeting with him, his lawyer, Dimitri Sadzaglishvili, read the statement to the journalists.
"My position on starving is as follows: All my steps were dictated by the main goal, to help the Georgian people escape from the swamp. I arrived so that no clashes would occur and no one would be harmed. I have also called on others to end the hunger strike; only I am starving with the only demand, stop the use of justice for unjust, political persecution, and return to the normal democratic process where people make decisions without coercion and falsification.
Until I am arrested, I will not receive food in any form, and I am ready to die.
At the same time, I want to keep my sanity and hard work to the end. Therefore, I agree with the medical intervention of the doctors, which will help me stay awake and even in very limited doses but still participate in the current events so that I can help Georgia as much as I can.
Now the society is very mobilized, and despite my personal situation, I am more optimistic than ever," Mikheil Saakashvili noted.
