The third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, shares an appeal from Gori Hospital.
Saakashvili responds to the criminal prosecution of former Deputy Interior Minister Giorgi Lortkipanidze.
"Giorgi Lortkipanidze is not only the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia but also the first chief of police in the history of the largest district in Ukraine, Odesa, during my governorship, who did not take bribes.
It was he who prevented the Russian subversions in Odessa. He is a general and senior official of the Ukrainian Police and Security Service of Ukraine. Most importantly, he has a number of very successful operations in both Georgia and Ukraine against Russian intelligence and is considered one of the main targets of Russian special services.
I am not really surprised that the government, which has not detected any Russian agents in 9 years, has charged Lortkipanidze. I consider it a direct Russian order and a full lustration of Ivanishvili's kleptocratic rule.
The patriotic Georgian government should ask General Lortkipanidze for help and reward him!" Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
