The minimum price for grapes has been set. The Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated at today's government sitting that the grapes of Kakhetian Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli will cost at least 80 tetri this year.

Today, the Prime Minister said that the state could be involved in handing over the grapes.

Giorgi Gakharia focused on the dynamics of the wine's growth and the industry before the coronavirus pandemic and noted that 2019 was the best year for wine exports. According to the Prime Minister, last year, the export of wine exceeded 99 million bottles, and at the same time, the domestic consumption of grapes and wine was growing as well.

Giorgi Gakharia explained that the government decided to subsidize the vintage this year after a two-year pause and created an individual, anti-crisis special package to support winemaking and viticulture.

The government will subsidize the vintage this year.

The country is hoping to have 300,000 tons of grapes this year.

The government is fully prepared for the 2020 vintage to be successful.
