The Parliament of Georgia has approved an anti-crisis plan, with the government planning to spend 16 bn GEL by the end of 2020. State budget expenses are set to grow by a bn and a half GEL.

Financial resources allocated for ant-crisis measures amount to 3 bn and four mln GEL, according to the draft amendments. This amount will be spent on the assistance of socially vulnerable families, utility bills, businesses and their tax benefits, and other causes.

Current and capital expenses are planned to be reduced by 600 mln GEL, with some state institutions funding to be cut, fuel expenses reduced, and very few new employees hired. According to the draft budget, the amount of dept will reach 55 % of GDP, AND economic growth will fall by 4 percent.

The parliamentary opposition refused to attend the plenary session.
