The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal will visit Georgia, the Prime Minister of Ukraine stated during a meeting with the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani.
He reaffirmed the Ukraine-Georgia strategic partnership and a joint effort of the two countries to achieve common goals - European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Vice Prime Minister of Georgia once again expressed the concern of the Georgian side over the developments in the borders of Ukraine and the temporarily occupied Crimea and reaffirmed Georgia's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties welcomed the signing of a memorandum between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the three associated countries on European integration issues.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the possibilities of activating and deepening relations in various fields. It was noted that Ukraine maintains a leading position among Georgia's trading partners. The positive practice of holding an intergovernmental economic commission to intensify economic cooperation between the countries further was underlined. The parties also stressed the need for closer cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine to use existing opportunities, including the DCFTA, effectively. The high dynamics of cooperation between the two countries in tourism was noted, as well as the great potential in terms of intensifying cooperation in the field of transport and using the potential of the Black Sea in this direction. The meeting also touched upon the Euro-Atlantic integration process of the two countries and the efforts of Kyiv and Tbilisi to properly reflect the integration goals of both countries at the next NATO summit. The Prime Minister of Ukraine paid attention to the close cooperation and communication with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili. The parties also stressed the need for a unified communication of the Eastern Partnership countries with the European Union in the process of fair distribution of vaccines.
