President Zurabishvili: I stand ready to launch a national reconciliation process

''I, as the president of Georgia, stand ready to launch a national reconciliation process, and make my contribution to it,'' Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said in her speech at Orbeliani palace, where she hosted representatives of different religious groups and their leaders.

Zurabishvili declared that the public cannot any longer tolerate conflicts and polarization and longs to find a way out of the stalemate. For this purpose, as she said, they must talk with each other and then come to an agreement.''We need to make all-out efforts to achieve reconciliation. This requires great patience,'' Zurabishvili stressed.

Salome Zurabishvili addressed representatives of different religious groups and their leaders, saying that she relies on them as they testify to the fact that Georgia has been ''the country of tolerance.''

''I do not delude myself into thinking that the process will be easy, or it will produce rapid results, but unless we start now, we will be caught in this stalemate,'' the president declared.
