The memorandum on the establishment of twin-city relations between Tbilisi and Baku has been concluded in Azerbaijan's capital city after 24-year-long partnerships. The Head of the Executive Authority of the City of Baku Eldar Azizov and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze signed the memorandum.

''The memorandum on the establishment of twin-city relations concluded between Tbilisi and Baku today is critical. Our countries have been linked with long-term partnerships. Hopefully, the memorandum will make a significant contribution to deepening relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and create conditions for our relations to become more interesting and amicable in different fields,'' Kaladze declared.

The memorandum envisages all-encompassing cooperation in culture, art, tourism, urban planning, environmental protection, transport, information technology, energy infrastructure, waste management, youth affairs and sports, trade, business relations, etc.

''Thousands of years of relations bond our people, and we deem these relations top level. Our cooperation can boast great achievements in different fields; special emphasis should be placed on civic diplomacy and friendship between the two people. The memorandum signed today will contribute to further strengthening our relations,'' Eldar Azizov stated.
