During the visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation of the Religion Agency held a meeting in the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Zaza Vashakmadze, the State Agency for Religious Affairs Chairperson, Giorgi Ukleba, the Deputy Chairperson, and Gvantsa Tskhovrebadze, the Protocol Manager, met with Fazail Ibrahimli, the Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament, and the Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Religious Associations.

The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan thanked the guests for a visit and noted that the rights of ethnic Azerbaijanis, including religious rights, are fully protected in Georgia. He also expressed the support of the state of Azerbaijan for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and noted that the friendship between the two neighboring states has a long tradition.

The Chairperson of the Religion Agency was interested in the religious policy of the state of Azerbaijan. According to the Vice-Speaker, religious tolerance is a very important achievement of the country, and Azerbaijan puts great importance on it. The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament introduced the Religion Law adopted in 1992 to the Georgian side. This law on free religion protects the rights of all ethnic groups, and this law, according to Fazail Ibrahimli, should be interesting for Georgia. The Vice-Speaker offered the assistance of experts in the field of legislative activities to the Georgian side.
