At the South Caucasus Free Energy Forum, the U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, called on the representatives of the Government of Georgia to continue to work on a transparent and coherent national energy strategy through important public consultations. According to her, work should be continued for the country to achieve energy independence.
"Energy security is national security. Work must continue to ensure that the country achieves energy independence. This can be done through an incentive scheme especially thought through for the local markets and by the generation of renewable energy," the embassy said in a statement.
