According to the decision made by the U.S. Senate, the US ambassador to Georgia will be Kelly Degnan. The Senate has already approved her candidacy. Kelly Degnan was nominated to Congress by President Donald Trump in September.
Kelly Degnan was a Political Advisor to the Commander of United States Naval Forces Europe / United States Naval Forces Africa. Previously, she was the Deputy Chief of Mission to the U.S. Mission to Italy and San Marino. She was also a political adviser to the U.S. delegation to NATO and a deputy political adviser to the U.S. Embassy in Turkey.
Elizabeth Rudd is acting as a U.S. ambassador.
