Yelyzaveta Yasko, the former head of the OSCE delegation in Ukraine and the current MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, has visited the third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in prison and said that he is still on a hunger strike and intends to call it off if he is taken to a private clinic.
''His state of health is immensely bad. Strasbourg Court gave a clear instruction that he must receive medical care in normal conditions, the sign of which is not in this institution. He needs medical equipment which is not here.
At our meeting, inmates' cries reached my ears, not too loud, but they could have been heard. This psychological terror does not improve his health condition,'' Yasko stated.
