At the initiative of the President of Ukraine, a telephone conversation took place between the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the conversation, Volodymyr Zelensky inquired about the health condition of the Ukrainian citizen, prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to the Prime Minister's press service, Irakli Gharibashvili told him that prisoner Saakashvili, like other prisoners, has been under monitoring since the first day of his stay in the penitentiary and has been receiving appropriate medical care 24 hours a day.

"According to the head of the Georgian government, Saakashvili, a citizen of Ukraine, is allowed to be visited by his lawyers, family members, as well as members of the Georgian parliament, and he has had more than a hundred visitors since the day of his arrest.

President Zelensky discussed the transfer of prisoner Saakashvili to a prison hospital, to which Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili told the President of Ukraine that prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili had resisted and verbally and physically abused staff after being transferred to the 18th facility. Volodymyr Zelensky demanded that the possibility be considered and that Ukrainian doctors be allowed to have Mikheil Saakashvili's health checked, to which Irakli Gharibashvili said that Georgian professional and highly qualified doctors take care of prisoner Saakashvili's health," mentions the information.

The third President of Georgia was arrested on October 1.
