Address of Baku Armenians to Karekin II, those living abroad and in Karabakh

The Armenians of Baku appealed to the Catholicos Karekin II, Armenians living in different countries worldwide and Karabakh.

The appeal reads:

"Today, tens of thousands of Armenians live in Azerbaijan. In this country, all people, regardless of religion or race, are treated equally. Everyone has the same rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Azerbaijan.

Armenia has occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands for more than 30 years, and during these years, the civilian population of Azerbaijan, including children and the elderly, have been the victims of gun attacks and killings by Armenia.

We appeal to the Catholicos Karekin II of All Armenians and the supreme head of the Armenian Apostolic Church:

Use your power and authority to end Armenia's occupation against Azerbaijan and return the occupied Azerbaijani lands to their owners. Help stop the bloodshed. All the religions of the world serve the peaceful coexistence of the people. Our religious leaders must work to help Armenia remove the negative image that has developed around us in the world."

Armenians living in Baku also wrote a letter to the representatives of the Armenian diasporas of the world and the Armenian lobby, asking for support for the peaceful coexistence of the people. "No war has brought good to humanity. The Khojaly genocide committed by Armenia against the Azerbaijani people is a black mark in Armenia's history and is very shameful for us," the letter reads.

The appeal to the Armenians living in Karabakh says that the Armenians lived happily on the land of the Azerbaijanis 30 years ago, and today they have been sacrificed by the Armenian government. "Wake up. It is not too late to refuse to be used in this game. Azerbaijan will protect all your rights, including your safety. We are a clear example of this," the letter reads.

Armenians in Baku also appealed to Armenian mothers not to allow their children to die on Azerbaijani soil. "Azerbaijani lands must be liberated," the appeal said.
