At least 21 people were killed and 17 injured in an explosion in Ghazni, the province's capital in Afghanistan, located in the central part of the country, the Xinhua news agency reports.
Reports say all the victims and injured are members of the Afghan army.
A car packed with explosives exploded near the base of the Afghan Armed Forces.
The explosion was preceded by shooting.
None of the extremist groups has claimed responsibility for the incident.
