Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for killing two French soldiers with an improvised explosive device in the West African Republic of Mali.
The terrorist group has denied involvement in mass killings in western Niger, where more than 70 people have been killed in an Islamist attack.
A few days ago, two French Army officers were killed on duty, and one was wounded when an improvised explosive device blew up their car.
According to French President Emmanuel Macron, the dead soldiers were carrying out a reconnaissance mission in Mali's eastern region, aimed at fighting Islamist terrorists.
