“There is no plan presented to us from the mediators – US, Russia and France, to give Nagorno-Karabakh independence. Not at all,’’ President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev told the US Fox News TV in an interview.
“In the peaceful plan, there is a point that all the occupied territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, the territories inhabited by Azerbaijanis and more than seven hundred thousand Azerbaijanis were ethnically cleansed from those territories… so, these territories must be returned to Azerbaijan. The realities on the ground you are talking about is the realities as a result of aggressive separatism from Armenia and ethnic cleansing of Azerbaijanis. All Azerbaijanis have been expelled from Nagorno-Karabakh. There were 40,000 of them before the war. All Azerbaijanis have been expelled from seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh with seven hundred thousand,’’ he said.
