Aliyev says Russia capable of assuring Armenia to end occupation

President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, discussed the Karabakh developments in an interview with the RBC and evaluated Russia and Turkey's impact on the regional developments.

In his words, Armenia has aimed to violate the negotiations and accuse Azerbaijan.

He reiterated that Azerbaijan remains devoted to its statements as it is a country that always fulfilled its commitments.

"Our goal remains unchanged – the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity recognized by the world community,'' he said.

In Aliyev's words, Russia plays a unique role in the current developments as a country with a long-term relationship history with Azerbaijan and Armenia.

''This is why Russia can influence the conflict resolution, and its ability is more than other countries'. We addressed the Russian government to use levers to influence Armenia to assure it that the occupation must end,'' he claimed.

Aliyev emphasizes that Armenia 100% depends on Russia, and the latter ensures its security and free weapon.

He also noted the supply of gas, power, and other benefits Russia provides Armenia.

''Russian border guards stand at the Armenian border with Turkey and Iran,'' he said.

President Aliyev declares that Russia has numerous tools to assure Armenia that the only outlet is to end the dispute with Azerbaijan.

''The resolution is simple: Armenia should leave Azerbaijan, withdraw armed forces, and our people should return there, and we will try to live together again,'' Ilham Aliyev said.

He also demanded Turkey engage in negotiations, adding it plays a stabilizer role in the world and region.

He assessed Turkey's role as 'positive,' adding it can significantly contribute to the conflict resolution.
