Ankara offers Baku that tourists from the two countries travel to Turkey and Azerbaijan with domestic passports. The statement came from Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, after a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Ankara.
"We already settled the issue of bilateral visa-free travel with Azerbaijan for tourists from the two countries for a period of 90 days. However, this is not enough. It is necessary to organize bilateral visits for Azerbaijani and Turkish citizens with domestic passports," Cavusoglu said.
According to him, this has already been done with Georgia and Ukraine.
"Given that the new type of ID card contains all the necessary information, we have taken the initiative to move with internal passports, and we will implement it," the Turkish Foreign Minister said.
