The Swedish-British company AstraZeneca said that their "antibody cocktail" called AZD7442 significantly reduces complications in people infected with the coronavirus, Reuters writes.
"Our antibody cocktail can significantly reduce disease progression and provide long-term protection for more than six months," said Mene Pangalos, executive vice president at AstraZeneca.
A study by AstraZeneca found that the AZD7442 cocktail reduced the risk of serious illness or death by 50%.
According to the company, it has already applied to the U.S. regulator for emergency use authorization.
At this point, the company is also developing a "medical cocktail" to protect people who do not have a strong enough immune response to COVID-19 vaccines.
