Azerbaijan's NGOs call on UN to stop Armenia

Non-government organizations from Azerbaijan have addressed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN Security Council and demanded them to stop and punish Armenia, Azerbaijani media outlets.

"On October 17, at about 01:00 am, Armenia attacked Ganja again, the second-largest city in Azerbaijan, hitting a densely populated area of the town with a SCUD/Elbrus ballistic missile, that left 13 people killed and more than 40 injured, including children, women and the elderly.

It is the third time in the past two weeks that the city of Ganja has come under heavy rocket fire from Armenia, and to date, 27 civilians have been killed and more than 100 injured.

The Azerbaijani public is worried and deeply saddened not only by this act of cruelty, barbarism, and terrorism committed by Armenia in front of the entire world - the silence of the UN Security Council, which is supposed to stop and punish aggressors around the world, and which was created for this goal by the international community.

If the UN Security Council this time again keeps silent about Armenia's crime, it will mean full protection of Armenia, as well as justification and complicity in international crimes committed by it. History will not forgive anyone," the statement reads.

Armenian missiles killed 13 in Ganja last night and left more than 45 people injured.
