Political parties in Azerbaijan have issued a statement regarding France's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"On September 30, French President Emmanuel Macron made frivolous statements in the Latvian capital, Riga, about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and developments on the front. Without any proof, the President of a country like France slandered our country based on fake information and rumors. These statements caused fierce outrage within the Azerbaijani community, and we are fully confident that France cannot maintain its objectivity as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair.

France is the country that, in 1993, voted in favor of the four resolutions demanding immediate withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Today France does not see the difference between the aggressor Armenia and occupied Azerbaijan and supports occupant Armenia.

France supports the occupier Armenia; it is not objective; it does not fulfill the mediator's mission. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the issue of exclusion of France from the Minsk Group's co-chairmanship.

"We are convinced that the mediator must be neutral and fair. Azerbaijan is waging a patriotic war against the occupier. Our country is lead by the international law in all cases of the liberation of the lands occupied by Armenia," said a statement issued by political parties in Azerbaijan.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani political forces say that the approach to international values should be united, and France should take an objective position or leave the OSCE format. "Our case is fair. Karabakh is Azerbaijan," the statement said.

The statement is signed by 50 political parties operating in Azerbaijan.
