The founder of American Microsoft corporation, Bill Gates, called for COVID-19 drugs and an eventual vaccine to be made available to countries and people who need them most, not the highest bidder.
"If we just let drugs and vaccines go to the highest bidder, instead of to the people and the places where they are most needed, we'll have a longer, more unjust, deadlier pandemic," - said Gates.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom has warned in July that the vaccine must be available for the whole population of the planet.
Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are heading a charity foundation, the main goal of which is to fight deadly diseases. The foundation will spend 300 million USD to help developing countries with the vaccine.
