A new test is initiated in the United Kingdom, which will define whether dogs can sniff coronavirus at its early stage before the symptoms show off, CNN writes.
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine is responsible for the implementation of its first stage with the financial support of 500 thousand pounds from the government.
Labradors and cocker spaniels participate in the test. A total of six dogs participates in the teat; their team is known as "Great six."
Scientists hang hopes on these dogs since they already sniff several types of cancer, malaria, and Parkinson's diseases.
Dr. Claire Guest, the Medical Detection Dogs co-founder and chief executive, said she was "sure our dogs will be able to find the odor of Covid-19".
If that proves to be the case, the dogs will then move into a "second phase to test them in live situations, following which we hope to work with other agencies to train more dogs for deployment", she said..
