The Council of the European Union has extended the mandate of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, for another 12 months, until February 28, 2022, the press service of the Council of the European Union reveals.

Toivo Klaar was appointed to this position in November 2017.

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar will visit Georgia and Azerbaijan in the nearest future.

He has been paying a visit to Armenia since February 22. After Armenia, he will visit Georgia, Russia, and then Azerbaijan.

During the visit, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus will meet with the country officials.
