Zoo staff in Israel filmed a video where elephants respond to the sounds of alarm systems and try to protect the baby elephants from rocket attacks, Newsweek reports.
In the video, five elephants gather around a 14-month-old calf when they hear an alarm signal.
Zoo staff says this behavior of elephants is "very normal" for animals in the wild when they feel they or their babies are in danger. At the zoo, the animals learned to recognize the sounds of alarm systems.
"When they feel threatened, they put little ones in the center and act as a kind of protective shield," the zoo said.
