"Armenia talks on the ceasefire agreement for humanitarian purposes, while on the other hand, it attacks the peaceful civilians of Azerbaijan,' Assistant of Azerbaijan's President, Head of the President's Department for Foreign Affairs, Hikmat Hajiyev said.
''Yesterday, when Azerbaijani armed forces prepared the dead for transferring to Armenians, Armenia opened fire. What does it mean? The ceasefire mediators should evaluate the fact. Azerbaijan is entitled to take all necessary measures against Armenia's targets if Azerbaijan's armed forces and peaceful citizens are attacked,'' he said.
On October 9, foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia held a meeting in Moscow.
The parties agreed on a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes.
Later, on October 10, Azerbaijan reported that Armenia violated the ceasefire regime, as Armenian shelling left nine dead in Ganja, the second largest Azerbaijan city last night.
