Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan has never been at war with civilian population

According to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is not fighting the Armenian people. It is waging a fair war. The statement came from the President of Azerbaijan in an interview with CNN-Türk.

"We want to restore our territorial integrity, and we have succeeded in this. Azerbaijan has never fought against civilians," Aliyev said.

According to the President, Azerbaijan is a multinational and multicultural country, where representatives of different nations live as one family.

"Azerbaijan is a place of national and religious tolerance. Thousands of Armenians live among us. They are our citizens. They live as normally as citizens of other nationalities. Of course, I am convinced that after this war, this conflict, the Armenians living in Karabakh will live with us."

"Armenia is one of the world's rarest countries, where 99% of the population is Armenian. All other nationalities were expelled from there—first, the Azerbaijanis, then the rest. Armenia is a mono-state, and this proves once again that it is a racist state. No other nationality can live there," Aliyev told CNN-Türk.
