"We have not involved any country in the current conflict, or any terrorists," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in his interview with the Russian News Agency called TACC. However, in Aliyev's words, the same does not apply to Armenia.
"We have been provided with the corresponding data, flight maps, military equipment types, and we have notified the Russian side. All this raises lots of questions and misunderstanding in the public. This is the status quo. We can also, if need be, publicize the data on supplies transported from Russia to Armenia; which transport vessels or airline companies they used. Illegal supplies are being mainly transported now," the Azerbaijani president declared, adding that they have officially addressed the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to study this issue and resolve it.
"As Georgia and Iran shut down their air space for transportation of military cargo, similar illegal methods have been applied. We expressed our opinion with the Russian side that this is contraband cargo because we cannot believe that Russia, the Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, which should maintain neutrality, like France and the U.S., is providing the Armenian side with weapons in the active phase of the conflict," Aliyev concluded.
