It was decided to stimulate a national vaccination campaign in India by selling alcohol, ANI reports.

In one of the villages in the state of Uttar Pradesh, a shop assistant decided to sell alcohol only to those who had been vaccinated against the coronavirus. To buy a drink, the buyer must present a Covid-certificate.

However, the tax office said that the relevant decree was not issued by the government of the country, although the village authorities themselves could have asked the shop owners to do so.

A vaccination campaign is currently underway in India. According to the latest information, 164 million people have been vaccinated against coronavirus, and 42 million people received both doses.
