Jens Stoltenberg: NATO is consulting with Georgia

During the NATO-Russia Council meeting, the sides will focus on European security, military transparency, risk reduction, and arms control. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced this at a briefing on Monday.

"I welcome the fact that Russia has agreed to our proposal to hold a NATO-Russia Council meeting this week. It is a positive signal. We will focus on European security, military transparency, risk reduction, and arms control," Stoltenberg said.

He noted that the dialogue with Russia should be based on consultations conducted by the Alliance with partners - Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Finland, Sweden, and the European Union.

Stoltenberg stressed that the Allies collectively support the right of countries to choose their path.
